Day 1
Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check-in. For VIP delegates, an optional VIP reception at the airport and transfer can be arranged. Spend the rest of the day at leisure - relax or enjoy the wellness/spa facilities in the hotel.
Guests who would like to tour the city can go on a 45-min panoramic/orientation tour onboard a historic tram! These historic trams used to operate in Prague in the early 20th Century. Enjoy panoramic views of Old Town, Prague Castle, Lesser Town, the embankment & Vltava River.
In the evening, attend the welcome dinner at the Blue Duckling II, a restaurant located in the heart of Prague Old Town, just a few steps from the Old Town Square and the Astronomical clock. Feast on the spread of traditional Czech cuisine and the large variety of top quality wines in the charming 1930s ambience of the restaurant.
Day 2
Start off the morning with a tour of the Hradcany area. This is a unique opportunity to go on a private visit of the Medieval Library within the Strahov Monastery!
The Strahov area is one of Prague’s most remarkable monuments due to its historical importance, size and present mission. After the Peace of Westphalia treaties, the monastery’s book collection was so big that in 1671, a new library - Theological Hall - had to be built to accommodate the collection. Philosophical Hall, the new library building, is an architectural marvel too. Strahov Library contains over 900,000 volumes and 300,000 works of expressive art. The oldest manuscript, dating back to the 10th century, is a summary of the Gospels. The collection is extremely valuable not only in monetary figures but also in historical significance. A private concert of Gregorian chorals by Schola Gregoriana Pragensis (8 monks) may also be arranged.
Proceed to tour Prague Castle, the largest medieval castle complex in Europe. This complex, seat of Czech kings throughout the ages, comprises many buildings, including the gothic St. Vitus Cathedral (Prague's most recognisable landmark), several palaces, a monastery, museums and galleries, viewing towers, St. George's Basilica and the enchanting Golden Lane. The crown jewels are kept in Prague Castle, as are the relics of Bohemian kings, or precious Christian reliquiae. Prague Castle is the seat of the Czech President, and has always been a symbol of Czech history and statehood. After the tour, break for lunch at Vikarka restaurant in Prague Castle.
Get ready for some fun and games! Form teams and go on the Royal Mile Rally! This is a chance to admire some of the most significant and most beautiful sights of Prague, enjoy magnificent views of the city, and meet some of the most famous historical personalities (medieval kings or queens, artists, scientists and writers). Besides having fun and allowing participants to explore the city’s culture and history in an unconventional way, this treasure hunt fosters team spirit, encourages communication, and evokes initiative and creativity.
Dinner Option 1: Dinner at Charles Bridge
End the day with dinner at the Mlynec Restaurant at the romantic Charles Bridge. Be prepared for breathtaking views as you approach the rear of the dining space and step onto the terrace! Take a seat here and admire views of the majestic Charles Bridge and the Gateway Tower. At night, the statues on the bridge seem to come alive beneath the spotlights. While enjoying the scenery, tuck into the culinary masterpieces of Mlynec’s First Chef, who won the Michelin Bib Gourmand prize in the Czech Republic.
Dinner Option 2: Panoramic Dinner venue
End the day with dinner at Céleste, a restaurant located in an exquisite space on the 7th floor of The Dancing House. Enjoy stunning panoramic views of Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral, the Vltava River and the embankment. Apart from being at a scenic vantage point, this French restaurant is known for its excellent cuisine and is ranked among the top in Prague.
Day 3
Embark on a full day tour of Pilen – the birthplace of golden lager beer! Since 1842, the whole beer industry has been trying to emulate it. Beers bearing names such as "pils", "pilsner" or "pilsener" number in hundreds; however, the Pilsner Urquell is the only original golden lager beer with worldwide recognition.
Learn all about the history of beer and its evolution! See an Egyptian brewery model, an original Gothic malthouse with its own well, a working example of a brewhouse, and goblets used by the Emperor František Josef I for beer tasting. Then, proceed to the Brewery Museum and take your pick of original brewery souvenirs.
After that, head to Plzeňský Prazdroj a.s., a brewery that has been brewing Pilsner Urquell beer since 1842. Learn about the history of this beer and the secret of its brewing process. Walk through the labyrinth of large cellars and inspect a workshop of the brewery coopers. Try some Pilsner Urquell beer during the sampling session.
Lunch is at the Na Spilce restaurant -- opened in 1992 on Pilsen brewery’s 150th founding anniversary.
Enjoy a medieval evening with dinner at Cartouche restaurant in the old town. Be transported many centuries back to the era of medieval feasts in the charming atmosphere of burning candles, red brick and mysterious underground cellars with massive oak tables. Savour the delectable spread of dishes intricately prepared by Chefs de Cuisine over open grills.
Day 4
Visit the Manto Gallery – a unique space in a baroque house in old Prague. See the Alchemy of Fire, a creative work by Tony Manto, one of the Czech Republic’s foremost glass and iron artists whose works are exhibited in numerous galleries and private collections around the world.
Lunch will be hosted at Hergetova Cihelna, right next to Charles Bridge at the point where the Certovka stream flows into the Vltava River. Tuck into traditional Czech and international favourites, gourmet salads, pastas and authentic Neapolitan pizza.
After lunch, go on a river cruise onboard Boat ‘Vodouch’, an original historic canal boat dating back to the end of the 19th century. On board, certified shipmasters will lead you on the tour with live commentary as you pass by Prague monuments. Drinks will be served and foreign commentary is available upon request. After the cruise, enjoy a wine-tasting session at the National Bank of Wine.
In the evening, try an interesting combination of Czech and international delicacies at the V Zátiší restaurant. Chosen as Central Eastern Europe’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ by Egon Ronay’s Seagram guide and ‘The Best Restaurant in Prague’ by Gourmet 2001, this popular restaurant is a favourite with the local, diplomatic and business community.
Then, proceed to Laterna Magika for a Black & Light theatre performance – a unique display of spoken words in combination with film projection, live stage media such as dance, sound, lighting, pantomime or features of black-theatre.
Day 5
Spend the day at the famous spa town of Karlovy Vary! Carlsbad, the most famous Czech spa, has always been connected with the soothing curative effect of its warm mineral springs. Curative treatments have been enjoyed here by some of the finest composers - Mozart, Beethoven and Bach - as well as famous writers and thinkers such as Goethe, Kafka and Freud.
Start your tour with a visit to the Moser Glass Factory. For more than 140 years, the factory has produced luxury glassware and decorative items in classical and contemporary shapes.
Then, proceed to Grandhotel Pupp to admire its neo-baroque interior. Its beautiful and original interiors make it a popular host venue for exclusive presentations, announcements for ‘Personalities of the Year’, beauty competitions, and many international events. Move on for a tour of the Becherovka Museum.
In the afternoon, visit the monumental Renaissance castle of Nelahozeves. Located 25 miles north of Prague high above the Vltava River, Nelahozeves is famously known as the birthplace of Antonin Dvorak, possibly the most famous Czech composer. The castle was constructed in the mid-16th century by the nobleman Florian Griesbeck of Griesbach, an influential member of the court of Emperor Ferdinand I. It remained in the Griesbeck family for three generations. In 1623, the castle was purchased by Princess Polyxena Lobkowicz and has been owned by her family ever since. After Communism was overthrown, the castle was returned to the Lobkowicz family in 1993. A permanent exhibition entitled “Private Spaces: A Noble Family at Home” portrays the lifestyle of the family through the centuries in a series of historical period rooms, detailed with paintings, furniture and art objects from the remarkable Lobkowicz Collections. Activities at the Nelahozeves Castle include wine-tasting, lunch in the Knight’s Hall, complete with a tour around the Knight’s Hall and the castle interiors.
In the evening, have a special dinner onboard the “Nepomuk”, a historic salon motor boat. Constructed in 1928, the “Nepomuk” is the oldest river boat in Europe still in operation today.
Day 6
Start the morning with a tour of the Old Town and Jewish Quarter. Discover the most significant square of historical Prague originating from the 12th century. Besides the Old Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, the square has several other significant edifices - the baroque St. Nicholas church; the Stone Bell house - a gothic city palace from the 14th century; and the Memorial to Master Jan Hus. Learn about the incredible people who contributed to the building of the social and cultural centre of Prague over the years.
Prague Jewish Town/Prague Ghetto dates back to the 13th century, but its present appearance is mainly the result of a vast redevelopment action from 1893 to 1913. Only a few significant buildings were preserve, bearing a living testimony to the history of Prague Jews that lasted many centuries. The tour ends on the Charles Bridge, where you can admire the open gallery of sculptures. Lunch and the afternoon are spent at your leisure.
GALA DINNER OPTION 1: Baroque Kaunic Palace
Kaunic Palace is a unique baroque venue located in New Town, in close proximity to the main shopping street Na Prikope. It was built around 1720 by a famous architect of the baroque period, G. B. Alliprandi, and the palace interior was rebuilt in 1782 by M. Hummel. The Music Hall was decorated in Romantic style in 1845.
Tour the festive halls on the first floor of the palace, or visit the Mucha Museum on the ground floor of the palace. The Mucha Museum is the world’s first museum dedicated to the life and work of the world-acclaimed Czech art noveau artist Alphonse Mucha (1860 - 1939). Alphonse Mucha is famous for the posters he created for the stage actress Sarah Bernhardt in the fashionable world of fin-de-siècle Paris. While enjoying the pre-dinner welcome drink, admire the 100 exhibits comprising paintings, photographs, charcoal drawings, pastels, lithographs and personal memorabilia.
GALA DINNER OPTION 2: Boccaccio Ballroom
Gala Dinner will be hosted at the Boccaccio Ballroom, located in the Old Town area behind the Grand Hotel Bohemia. Designed for the richest 500 in the city, Boccaccio was the most elegant, luxurious and expensive night club in Prague between the two wars.
GALA DINNER OPTION 3 – Stage of the State Opera
Enjoy world-class opera or ballet performances at the Prague State Opera! The Prague State Opera resides in the building which opened on January 5, 1888 with the performance of Wagner’s opera, The Mastersingers of Nürnberg. With its spacious auditorium and neo-Rococo decoration, this theatre building is among the most beautiful in Europe. Among the exceptional artistic figures who performed here were directors Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss, as well as soloist Enrico Caruso. Champagne and canapés will be served in the Salon during the break.
GALA DINNER OPTION 4 -- Lobkowicz Palace
Retreat for a private evening function in the grand rooms of this Palace, built in the middle of the 16th century and handed down from heir to heir in the Lobkowicz family. After more than forty years of Communist rule during which the Palace was confiscated, and a further 12 years seeking its restitution, the Lobkowicz family once again became the owners of their Palace in late 2002. On April 2nd, 2007, following more than three years of planning, careful restoration and refurbishment, it was open to the public for the first time as a private family museum. Enjoy vintage family wines and beer at this venue, while enjoying scenic views from the terrace. You may even get a chance to meet Prince William Lobkowicz, and view fireworks on the river!
Day 7
Depart for the airport to board your return flight.
