Half Day City Tour of Dubai
- USD35 per person
- Tour lasts approximately 4 hours
- Lunch is not included in the price
A fascinating tour of Dubai that explores the contrast between the past and the present. The journey by coach begins from Dubai creek as we pass by Bastakia, the old quarter of the city, with its houses made of limestone and coral built by Iranian merchants. Here, you will see the wind towers which served to keep the city cool in the old days. The journey continues through the city center to the Museum, housed in the 18th century Al Fahidi Fort, that features realistic displays of traditional ways of life of the city’s inhabitants, providing a fascinating glimpse into such daily activities as trading and pearl diving.
We then head towards Jumeirah Mosque, a magnificent example of modern Islamic architecture, and continue thereafter along the Jumeirah beach road, which is the most luxurious urban area in Dubai. We pass by the Mercato shopping mall with its distinctive Mediterranean style architecture enroute to the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel for some photo taking. The journey then takes us through the ‘trunk’ of the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial palm tree-shaped resort island, the largest man-made architectural wonder. Photo opportunities are plentiful at the famous Atlantis Palm Hotel.
On our way back to the City on Sheikh Zayed Road, we pass the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world; The Emirates Towers; and The World Trade Center. All lie in an area referred to as The Manhattan of Dubai. We drive by the palaces of Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Rashid just before we reach the end of our tour.
